It’s that time of the month again when I sit down and check out the coolest games releasing soon. I’ve combed through the upcoming titles and picked out the ones that I think are worth your time and attention. So here are the best upcoming game releasing in April 2023.
Meet Your Maker
Meet Your Maker is a post-apocalyptic PvP base building and raiding game which is created by the game developers of Dead by Daylight. The game has two main modes, the first one is building mode and the second one is raiding mode. In the base building mode, players can create an outpost with various materials, and this allows them to design it in any way they wish.
The main objective of the game is to protect the treasure room from enemy raiders by fortifying walls, constructing mazes, and laying down traps. Meet Your Maker also has different types of AI guards that players can use to create obstacles for raiding players.
Yes, there is some sort of limitations to the resources but players have the freedom to customize the traps and AI guards according to their preferences.
In the raiding mode, players can raid other players’ outposts to acquire genetic material and upgrade materials. The game has different types of weapons and consumables to help raiders survive the traps and obstacles which is placed by the enemy at their outposts. Players can customize their raider’s loadout and their appearance.
The game also features a unique rating system where raiders can rate the player-built outposts they raid. There is also an awesome feature where teams of two players can raid other player bases together.
The game is set to launch on April 4th for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.

The game features twisted versions of old folk fairy tales, and here players can play as Red Riding Hood, the Pied Piper, the Snow Queen, Aladdin, Melusine, and Beowulf. Dead Island 2
The highly anticipated zombie-survival RPG game Dead Island 2 is finally happening this month and I must say, it looks better than my expectations. Despite its lengthy development, the game appears to be shaping up quite nicely.
The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles that is infested with zombies. Initially, I thought the game would be an open-world game, but it appears to be divided into various districts. This division allows for greater control over the physics and density of the game.
Despite this segmented design, each district seems to be a decent size and players have reportedly enjoyed exploring them. Each region comes with its own objectives, both main and side quests, unique enemies, challenges, and secrets to uncover. There are six characters, each with their own stats and perks that cater to different play styles.
Players can choose to be tanky or agile, melee or ranged-focused, and more. The game includes a level and progression system, with skill cards to further specialize each character.
Combat in the game is primarily melee-focused with some ranged options and includes a lot of over-the-top action with quick-time event-style inputs. Players will use a range of makeshift weaponry including knives, axes, hammers, and other bladed or blunt weapons, with tons of improvised attachments via an upgrade and enhancement system.
Overall, Dead Island 2 seems like it will be one of the best games of this month. It will be available for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles on April 21st.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
The most anticipated game of April is Star Wars Jedi Survivor, which is the sequel to Jedi Fallen Order. Star Wars series game followed the story of a Jedi who is in hiding after the events of Order 66.
The original game reignited my interest in the franchise due to its modern and fully realistic Star Wars world, great combat, and Metroidvania style progression. It even included Souls-like elements such as bonfires that respawn enemies in the area.
The sequel, Survivor, takes place five years after the events of the original game, with the protagonist Kal pushed to the edges of the galaxy by the Empire and facing new threats. The game will feature brand-new lightsabre fighting styles and a skill tree for each saber type, which allows more customization.
In addition to a new story, the game will also include larger play spaces, more exploration, and new skills, equipment types, and abilities. Star Wars Jedi Survivor will launch on April 28th for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles.
