If you are excited about the upcoming anime Oshi No Ko, then here are the 10 similar anime recommendations while we await the release date.
In 2023, one anime that’s been getting a lot of buzzes is Oshi No Ko, and for good reason. The story is from the same author as Kaguya-sama Love is War, and the studio Doga Kobo is known for its impressive work. But we don’t know exactly when this anime will be released yet.
So in the meantime, why don’t we watch some animes that are similar to Oshi No Ko? Here are 10 great recommendations to check out.
10. Blue Period
Blue Period focuses on visual arts, while Oshi No Ko focuses on performing arts. A high school student named Yatora is a somewhat intelligent and somewhat rowdy young man who goes through life like everyone else.
There isn’t much in his heart that inspires passion or purpose, and his friends are no different. That is, until one day when the radiant landscape of early morning Shibuya leaves him in awe and fascination.
When it comes time to paint, he uses art to express his feelings and expressions. He’s finally found it. He now knows what it is that stirs his heart, but will he have the courage to pursue his newfound passion? That, after all, is the question. Watch the awesome anime and find out.

9. Love Live Superstar
Everyone has a dream that they would like to realize, a goal that they want to achieve, or a destination that they wish to visit deep inside their hearts. Love Live Superstar is primarily a story about a group of girls who desire to be school heroes. Kanaan has a beautiful voice, but stage fear prevented her from being accepted into the music program.
So she doesn’t have much she can do about it now, does she? When a Chinese student overhears her singing, she forces Kanaan to become a school idol with her. It’s a great and wholesome anime.

8. Remake Our Life!
Imagine that life has messed everything up for you, yet you unexpectedly find yourself 10 years in the past, right before you attend college. Would you be delighted, or perhaps ecstatic? I’m sure I would. Kyouya experiences exactly this.
He had many regrets about the decisions he made when he was younger; nevertheless, now that he has the opportunity to start again, how will he live his life differently? Genre wise one of the best anime similar to Oshi No Ko.

7. ReLife
In this situation, I suppose Re-Life is akin to Remake Our Life; hey, even the anime names rhyme. So, like Kyouya, a 27-year-old man named Arata is now unemployed, anxious, and possibly depressed. But then a shady character gives him the opportunity to live as a high school student for a year.
He somehow accepts it, and then, the minute he takes the pill, his appearance reverts to that of a 17-year-old. Now, how will this change of pace help him?

Studio | TMS Entertainment |

6. Nana
The entertainment industry is difficult, and the reality is that most people would struggle to make a career in it. Nana follows a heroine who aspires to be a successful lead vocalist for a certain band. Then there’s another female who arrives in Tokyo looking for anything, or perhaps even someone.
Both share the same name, Nana and by some strange coincidence, they wind up living together under the same house. If you’re looking for a romance anime that isn’t simply cheese and fluff, I’d recommend Nana if you are looking for a similar anime like Oshi No Ko and a very good story anime.

Where To Watch | Hulu |
Studio | Madhouse |

5. Spy X Family
Everyone has a secret, which is a good thing. The plot of Oshi No Ko is based on secrets, and the same is true of Spy X Family. The husband and wife are both holding secrets from one other.
Only in this case, the secrets are massive. We’re discussing a spy and an assassin. They have no idea their daughter is a telepath, and she already knows everything about them.
Japanese Name | Hataraku |
Where To Watch | Crunchyroll, Hulu |
Studio | Wit Studio, CloverWorks |

4. Smile Down the Runway
Height may not always be important, but it is when applying to large modeling agencies. This is the story of a young lady named Chiyuki. She aspires to walk the runway at the famed Paris Fashion Week.
Despite her drive and grit, she is short in size. Then there’s Ikuto, a young man who excels at designing gowns and aspires to be a fashion designer. Unfortunately, his family is struggling financially, so his dream is also an impossible goal.
Normally, these two would have given up, but a chance to contact with each other ignites a spark within them. Maybe if they’re together, they might have a shot at realizing their respective dreams.

3. Skip Beat!
Now, in both Oshi No Ko and Skip Beat, the protagonist turns to acting for vengeance. The circumstances change, but the unyielding will to do whatever it takes stays constant. In Skip Beat’s plot, there is a girl named Kyouko.
She harbors romantic sentiments for a childhood friend. In fact, she works a variety of tasks to assist him to earn money so that he can pursue his dream of being an idol. Everything appears to be fine for Kyouko until one day when she overhears her childhood buddy discussing her and how he sees her as a maid. She is angry and furious, and you can guarantee she will surpass him by becoming an even larger idol.
Japanese Name | Skip Beat! |
Where To Watch | Crunchyroll |
Studio | Hal Film Maker |

2. Classroom of the Elite
The way the protagonist deals with the issue in Classroom of the Elite and Oshi No Ko is the most similar. They are exceedingly calculative, have ulterior objectives, and are unconcerned with influencing others.
Ayanokouji can be slightly too apathetic, but given his odd upbringing, I suppose we can overlook that. When you think plot-wise, Classroom of the Elite is one of the best anime that is way more similar to Oshi No Ko.
Japanese Name | Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e |
Where To Watch | Crunchyroll, Funimation |
Studio | Lerche |
Dubbed | Yes |
1. Kaguya-sama Love is War
Kaguya-sama Love is War is the final anime on our list. Because both Oshi No Ko and Love is War are written by the same author, there are significant similarities in the way the characters act and the issues depicted.
Although Kaguya-sama is ultimately about making the other person fall in love with you, Oshi No Ko is about something more tragic.
Furthermore, while the Kaguya-sama manga has come to an end, Oshi No Ko is still going strong. There is no telling how or when it will end, but both are fantastic stories that I highly suggest.
Japanese Name | Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen |
Where To Watch | Crunchyroll, Funimation |
Studio | A-1 Pictures |
Dubbed | Yes |
