But these are our picks for the best anime of 2021. All these anime are worth watching, so if you’re looking for something fun to watch, look no further.
Here are the top 10 must watch best anime of 2021
Choosing the best anime of 2021 is no easy task. It requires first determining what anime is worth watching in the first place. It’s not just about finding something entertaining or even educational; it’s about finding something that makes you feel something. It’s about finding something that changes you and helps you grow into the person you want to be and if you are looking for the best, then these are our 10 picks for the best anime of 2021.
10. Wonder Egg Priority
2021 was filled with a lot of exciting action shows, so how about some mental gymnastics to change the mood. Yeah, Wonder Egg Priority is one of those psychological shows that can make you question the sanity of the world our main character lives in.
This follows the 14-year-old girl Ai Ohto and her adventures, and by adventures, I don’t mean ganging up and exploring the world. I mean adventures with a subtle psychological undertone to them. This is one of those shows that you need to re-watch once or twice to better understand the hidden themes and the psychological elements of it. This also has some great animation, so even if you don’t like those mind games, you’re gonna love those horrifying images.

Vampires are nothing new to the anime medium. Japan has been milking the concept of vampires with anime like Hellsing and Devil’s Line, but what about a lighthearted show about vampires with a bit of a Sherlock Holmes feeling in it. We don’t get detectives here, but we do get an interesting cast of characters with mysterious backgrounds.
It is also interesting how all these characters have diverse personalities and can instantly grip your attention on the screen. The anime also has got some great visuals and action and the cast of characters feels original enough to invest you in the story, so if you need some good vampire action, then this is the anime for you.
08. 86
Things that bring out themes of inequality and injustice. No, I’m not speaking about Code Geese. I’m talking about the light novel masterpiece 86. Most lite novel anime adaptations turn out to be a wacky mess, so you should always think twice before watching an anime that’s based on a light novel, but you know what 86 completely twists that belief into a 180 and gives us one hell of a great ride.
Do you need good world-building? Well, you got it; great characters got them too. If you’re an action fan that needs some good mecha action, then you can have that as well. The female characters also don’t fall into the usual damsel in distress trope, which has helped propel the popularity of this anime.

07. Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song
AI stories are nothing new to the medium, but when which studio joins the game and decides to give it their special treatment, we know that the anime will be a masterpiece. Vivy starts off with everyone’s favorite terminated premise. AI’s have taken control of the world and the only way to prevent the eradication of mankind is to change things that happened in the past.
Our main character is Vivy, an artificial songstress who can never find a good audience for her songs, but when another AI appears from the past and begs her help to prevent a great war, she is thrown into an adventure that involves cool action, tons of AI concepts, and some fluid animation to complement the story. Let’s hope this gets to season 2 because we badly deserve a new season for this masterpiece.

06. To Your Eternity
Sometimes we don’t need these action-packed stories with hype and great visuals. Sometimes we just need to take a break from them all and enjoy something lighthearted, emotional, and heartwarming. If you’re one of those people, then To Your Eternity will be the show for you
. To Your Eternity follows a mysterious immortal creature named Fushi. He is sent to earth with no memory, no identity, or no goals for his life. He shapeshifts into objects and animals, and his last shapeshifting makes him a dying wolf. Here he meets a boy who is alone and it doesn’t take long for the two to strike a bond.
As I said, don’t expect some epic plot twists in this one because this story is for your heart, and when the sad moments kick in, you’re definitely gonna be crying.

05. Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation
Tired of isekai where the author just focuses on a generic power fantasy story and ignores all those world building elements, then Mushoku Tensei has got your back because this show is not just an isekai, it’s a fantasy masterpiece, and yeah, there’s a bit of ecchi in there too. It’s Japan, so what can you say.
When a 34-year-old man is met with an accident while trying to rescue another person, he is teleported to a fantasy world as Rudeus Greyrat.
As a child, Rudeus possesses incredible magical skills and genius-level intellect. His parents are surprised about him and the boy begins to learn the best sword and sorcery skills in the world. If you want to watch the best isekai of the year, wait no more.

04. Odd Taxi
If I tell you there is a story about a taxi driver, you’ll take your chances punching me rather than trying to watch it, but what if I told you that this anime about a taxi driver is one of the best mystery anime ever made. Yes, one thing I love about the show is the way it built its mystery. It knows how to slowly build up the questions and then give each of them a successful payoff.
It is very difficult to summarize the show’s premise without including spoilers, so why don’t you see for yourself. There are a lot of characters, a lot of events, a lot of mysteries, and it all ties into this one taxi driver who drives a yellow cab and goes around town.

03. Horimiya
What does a good romance show look like? I don’t mean those generic romance shows where the girl immediately falls in love with the boy or the boy gets some love at first sight feeling before chasing the girl. I’m speaking about shows where the relationship is developed by showing how much great chemistry there is between two characters and one show like that is Horimiya.
It speaks about how each of us has fake masks to show fake feelings instead of the true feelings that we have and so do the main characters of Horimiya. If you need some great romance, then this is the show for you.

02. Jujutsu Kaisen
MAPPA came back and gave us something really great again. If you were one of those people who criticized the CGI of the you-know-what show, then Jujutsu Kaisen is what showed the potential of studio MAPPA.
We’ve got sorcerers, demons, spirits, and everything you can ask for in a shounen anime, and this show does a lot of things differently as well. It has well-developed female characters plus the main character who isn’t whiny all the time.
Jujutsu Kaisen also has some great fight scenes and the secret formula is to spam our white head sorcerer to each fight so people can watch how he finishes enemies with one hit. If you haven’t watched this show yet, then don’t wait. Go and watch it right now.

01. Attack on Titan
Of course, you know how this video is going to end right. Despite all the recent controversies about the manga, we still know this season of attack on titan was one of the best anime to ever get made. More mysteries are revealed, there are a ton of new character faces, and our protagonist is slowly starting to be the villain of the series. Come on, not every anime can do this.
It’s still surprising how we went from a man vs. monster show to a show about fascism, racism, human mortality, and all of that. Not every show can pull that twist and we need to give credit to the manga author for creating a story that we can all love.
The second part of the fourth season is already started airing right now. So, don’t wait, go and watch it right now, and if you want to binge-watch all the episodes then you have to wait till April.
